NBC News — Russia's Foreign Minister condemned the West tuesday, saying that their stance on Syria was quote "immoral." Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rebuffed calls for Russia to place sanctions on Syria, saying that ultimatums won't end the crisis there.
The United Nations estimates that more than 4000 people have been killed in a brutal government crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators. Last month, Russia vetoed a western-backed U.N. Security Council resolution condemning the bloodshed in Syria.
