Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Baker Officials say that a child reported an arson that happened over the weekend on Patricia Street, and said that a parent was responsible for the incident.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, The Baker Fire Department received a call from a child who said her mother was lighting the house on fire. When fire fighters arrived at the home, no one was inside, but there was smoke coming from the residence.
The smoke was coming from the kitchen of the home, where fire fighters found the oven door open with clothes stuffed inside of it.
A small area on the floor and a cabinet were burned due to the fire.
Investigators are still working to determine how the fire was ignited. No arrests have been made at this time.
The total damage caused is estimated at $500.
