BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33)- —
The 9-year-old boy who fell 30 feet from the capitol steps has taken a turn for the worse.
Andrew Illes fell last month, but in the past few days he's gotten very sick and had to be taken to Children's Hospital in New Orleans.
His mother Katherine says the road to recovery continues to grow longer, and she's still upset there wasn't any thing in place at the capitol to protect her son from the fall.
Today, Governor Jindal weighed in on the latest developments. "I know that these parents just want their kids to be better. I know they would do anything to trade places with their child like any parents would. So, obviously our thoughts and prayers go out to this family for a speedy recovery," said Governor Jindal.
