BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Today kids in the Runnels Preschool got a chance to slip and slide in the snow. Parents from the school paid for the fake snow to fall this morning.
The kids enjoyed feeling the white fluffy flakes, but not all were excited. Runnels teacher Sandra Hooter says some kids need a little extra motivation to play in the snow.
"Some of them are a little leery about the snow,” she told NBC33 News. “They've never been in it. New experience sometimes are hard for young children. This is why we wanted to go ahead and give them this experience."
Many of the parents say these kids now have a fun memory of playing in the snow that will last them until they see the real thing.
The last time we had measurable snow in South Louisiana was in Februrary 2010. Baton Rouge saw about an inch of snow.
