Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Dept. of Health and Hospitals and Families Helping Families officials announcing a new program that'll help kids with behavioral and mental problems.
The program is called the family support organization. It'll make it easier for the families of kids with these disablities to get the care they need.
DHH officials say this program will tailor the care to the kid. Making their family and home a direct part of their recovery process.
"They get to spend the nights in their own bed, they get to stay in their own classroom with kids they work and play with in the neighborhood, that's the thing, they get to experience normalcy," said Independent Disability Advocate.
