Coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are ranked number two in the BCS polls, which officially puts them in a rematch against the LSU Tigers, but this time, for the national championship.
Just a month ago, the Tigers beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa in overtime. Now, LSU will take on the Tide in New Orleans on January 9.
Saban says there is no better team to fight for the title and he's ready for the rematch.
"Well, they obviously are undefeated and they have the best team, I think, in the country,” stated Saban. “I think if you're a great competitor, you know you like great challenges and this is certainly going to be a great challenge for us. Our football team has responded well to challenges all year long, so I'm excited that they've created an opportunity for themselves that will be one of the biggest moments of their football career."
The Alabama Crimson Tide beat out the Oklahoma State University Cowboys in the BCS polls by .09. It's the smallest difference between the number two and number three spots in BCS ranking history.
