Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — There's a new man in charge of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
Governor Bobby Jindal named St. Tammany Parish President Kevin Davis the new director of GOHSEP.
Davis will start his new job on December 9.
The governor said in a statement that he chose Davis because of his strong leadership skills and his experience in handling disasters like the BP oil spill, Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Gustav.
Interim Director of GOHSEP Pat Santos will return to his previous duties as deputy director of the agency.
