Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The search for the new Superintendent of Education will remain close to home, according to Penny Dastugue, President of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The BESE Board's front runner is Recovery School District Superintendent John White, who’s also Governor Jindal's choice for the job.
The board previously rejected White as a candidate, but with a new batch of BESE Board members seated in January, the consensus now is White's chances look good.
