BOSSIER PARISH - A Bossier City mother is dead and her 20 year old son is charged with the murder. Doctor Donna Holder worked at the LSU hospital in Shreveport. According to police, her son Christopher stabbed her and then told them someone else he did it. The man was diagnosed with bipolar disorder several years ago. Christopher Holder is charged with second degree murder. His bond is set to $1 million.
WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH - Two traffic stops turned into drug busts. Police took almost a million dollars in drugs off the streets. They both happened earlier this month. First, on November 12th when state police pulled over 50 year-old Christopher Streight. That's where they say they found these 333 pounds of marijuana. That has a street value of $333,000. Streight is now locked up on drug charges. Then last week police made another stop on I-10. That's police found that Elsa Escobedo had 12 kilos of cocaine in hidden compartments of the car that's worth half a million dollars. She was also locked up. The two will both face up to 30 years behind bars if they're convicted.
ASCENSION PARISH - Ground is broken on a new skate park in Gonzales. The half-acre project has been in the works for a while. It'll be built in two phases. It's being built on land between the National Guard Army and the Council on Aging. Parish President Tommy Martinez says he's excited to be able to give young ones in the parish something else to do.
