BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — A disturbing crime scene found in an elementary school parking lot has those living nearby fearful for their safety. Some who have lived in the area for decades now say they’re considering moving.
Sometime around 9:00 a.m. an employee for Dufroq Elementary discovered the body of a woman in a dumpster located near the school. We’re told the woman is black, and between 40-60 years old. She was naked with no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.
Clothing items were found on the south side of the school’s campus, but as of right now, investigators have not determined whether they belong to the deceased woman or not.
Fortunately no children witnessed the investigation as they are out for Thanksgiving break. Residents living near the school, however, are keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
NBC33 talked to several residents in the area, and they say this is the second time in less than three years that a body has been found near this school. They tell us the Police presence in the area is not enough, and they fear for their safety. They say this incident may be the last straw to push them out of the neighborhood for good.
