Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The University of Phoenix partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America to stuff bears for under privilaged kids at the Mall of Louisiana Saturday.
Whenever any type of emergency happens, first responders such as the red cross, firefighters, and police often tell NBC 33 that they wished they had something to give the children who're displaced.
Now they can. Over 250 bears were stuffed for kids this holiday season, and University of Phoenix campus chair Michelle Smith says its wonderful she can help bring a smile to kid's faces.
"This is an opportunity for us to give back to the baton rouge community, so it's just our ongoing volunteerism that we want to do with in the community, so it's great for us to be able to work with an organization like the boys and girls club." said University of Phoenix Baton Rouge Chair, Michelle Smith.
