BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — "Controlled chaos. It's just busy and people waiting in the line. It's not worth it for me," says shopper Amanda Wicklund.
Amanda WIcklund is talking about one of the busiest shopping days of the year, Black Friday. But Wicklund says, the hordes of people that stuff into stores to find the best deals are just not for her, "It's just so crowded and you wait in line too long and it doesn't seem worth it.'
Lots of stores this year are even opening on Thanksgiving night to try and capitalize on these shoppers, but shopper Guy Harper says his safety is more important than any savings he's going to find at any of the stores, "There is no sense in risking your life and your safety to fight the crowds that come in for Black Friday."
So, both of them have decided that using their computers instead of theif cars to find deals is the best way to go, "Most of the stores have the same deals online as they do in the stores," says Harper. "It's more comfortable and it's not crowded and you don't have to worry about the shelves being empty with something, which sometimes happens to people on Black Friday...I don't want to be stressed out over the holiday, because I want to enjoy it," says Wicklund.
