Walker, La (NBC33) — "Pretty shook up. My son was supposed to start a job this morning. He's trying to get his life together and then I get this word," says Fred Bye
Instead of starting his new life, Fred Bye's only son, Joshua, is now in the hospital recovering from injuries. This is after an early morning argument over a girl at a party turned violent, "They were sitting around with a couple of friends and some guy kept blowing about how he had a gun. He was going to kill his old lady. Joshua says that don't make you a man cause you have a gun. Next thing he knew the guy came with a gun and he heard blast shooting," says Bye.
Fred Bye says his son had a very close call with those bullets,"The two bullets grazed his head." But the police says that's not the case, "There were shots that were fired so I guess he had assumed that he had been hit with a gunshot. He has not been shot, but there we shots fired," says Walker police chief Hunter Grimes
But according to the police chief,Bye was never shot, "Pretty much that's what happened, he got beaten up"
After collapsing at the gas station Bye was taken to the hospital. His dad says the close call is unnerving, but he's glad things didn't turn out any worse, "Scary, scary. I'm still shaking but thank God my son's alive."
