NBC News — Taiwan's Air Force simulated an attack on the country by China on thursday. In the simulated attack, jet fighters flew over a closed highway turned into a makeshift landing strip.
The Defense Ministry deployed several fighters for the drill, including the F-16, Mirage 2000, and Taiwan-made fighters. More than 1400 troops were also involved in the simulation. China has claimed Taiwan as its own since the end of The Chinese Civil War in 1949 and continues to vow to bring the island under its rule.
