NBC NATIONAL NEWS — While students at Dulles, Virginia's middle school hit the books, a teacher was hitting the bottle.
Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to J. Michael Lunsford Middle School on Monday at 2:45 p.m. after receiving a report of public drunkenness.
A member of the school's staff had called in, believing a colleague was drunk at work.
Authorities said that deputies discovered a physics teacher, Radhakrishnan Sivaramapillai, under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested for public intoxication.
Law enforcement officers said the teacher was so drunk he could not legally operate a vehicle.
