KENTWOOD, LA (NBC33) — A family of four got the shock of a lifetime last night. As they were sleeping, they say a tornado picked up their two-story home and moved it 15-feet. Thankfully, no one was injured.
The home is in a secluded area of Kentwood near Hwy 4-40. Around 3:00 a.m., we’re told the tornado formed with winds up to 105 miles per hour. It lifted the home off the ground, with the family sleeping inside having no warning about what was happening.
The National Weather Service is still in the process of confirming whether the disturbance was a classified tornado or not.
Brix Fowler is out in Kentwood and will have the full report on NBC33 News at 5:00 p.m.
