Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Today Together Baton Rouge along with community leaders try to come up with a solution to the multi-million dollar hole in the CATS' Bus System’s annual budget.
Officials say if the two million dollar budget gap isn't fixed soon, routes could be cut all across the board.
Community leaders like Edgar Cage say baton rouge is the only Capitol City in the U.S. without a reliable source of public transit funds, and that's unacceptable.
"For Baton Rouge to be the capitol city we should be the model for this state on transit, and other issues. We are the largest city in the country that doesn't have a dedicated source for transit, and I think that's abominable." Community Leader, Edgar Cage, said.
