Louisiana (NBC33) — Hundreds of millions in federal emergency money is on the way to Louisiana.
The almost $400 million, coming from FEMA, will help protect the state against future storms.
Senator Mary Landrieu says Louisiana was shortchanged after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The money will be divided among parishes based on their level of damages, and local leaders will decide on spending plans.
