NBC NATIONAL NEWS — November 11th is a day that's been hyped up to be one full of luck.
That proved to be the case when the clock struck 11:11 at Texas' Abilene Regional Medical Center.
That's when Kobe Lamar Francis came into the world.
"No one will forget it. His birthday," said mother Latoshia Francis.
"We're like 'hurry hurry hurry!' you know, trying to get it done by 11:11, and we got it done by seconds!" said nurse Amanda Shirley.
"It feels pretty good, a new edition to the family," added Keon Francis, Kobe's Father.
At 10 pounds, 4 ounces, Kobe is the fourth child of parents Latoshia and Keon Francis, who were not expecting their C-section delivery to come right at the time it did.
It was the nurses who were secretly hoping to deliver in the lucky moment.
"We had three C-sections today and usually we don't get three done before noon, so I didn't think it was going to happen," said Shirley. "But all of us nurses did good teamwork and made it happen. Even the doctor didn't think it would happen. We called him from his office and said 'we're in the OR, we're ready!"
