BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Newly appointed women’s basketball coach Niki Caldwell is going to be a mother. NBC33 News confirmed the news with LSU. They tell us she’s expecting and is due in late March.
We’re told Caldwell will coach the entire season and a doctor will travel with her and the team throughout. Her due date is set sometime near the end of the NCAA Tournament.
An Associate Sports Information Director says Caldwell’s long time boyfriend is former NFL Running Back Justin Fargas, and says he is the father of Caldwell’s child.
Caldwell was hired to take over the women’s basketball program on April 3, 2011. The Lady Tigers will open up the season on Monday at Witchita State University. Their home opener is set for Wednesday in the PMAC against Georgetown.
