NBC NEWS — Toyota is recalling more than half a million vehicles around the world, most of them in the United States.
The 2004 and 2005 Camry, Highlander, Sienna, and Solara are being recalled, along with the 2004 avalon and the 2005 Highlander.
Owners of the '04 and '05 Lexus ES330 and RX330, and the 2006 RX400H are also affected.
There's a problem with those vehicles' power steering; Toyota has had almost 80 reports of the defect since 2007.
In January 2012, owners will get notification of the recall in the mail, asking them to make an appointment for a free repair.
If owners hear a strange noise coming from the engine compartment before receiving the notice, Toyota says you should get the vehicle inspected at any dealership.
