BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar in the newly opened Renaissance Hotel joins a growing number of restaurants on Bluebonnet Boulevard that are broadening the dining options in Baton Rouge.
Locals and hotel guests will savor the flavors of Louisiana when they dine in Tallulah. This casual upscale restaurant, which shares its name with the small Louisiana town of Tallulah, serves notable, indigenous cuisine from around Louisiana, while featuring house-crafted menu items that interpret local flavors in fresh and unique ways. Chef Andy Papson, the hotel’s Executive Chef, has been entrusted with overseeing the culinary operations for Tallulah, as well as those of the new Renaissance Hotel.
Tallulah serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes an outstanding wine bar nestled in an intimate setting that offers guests an extensive selection of fine wines by the glass. Breakfast includes such mouth-watering dishes as Louisiana organic pecan liquid praline-topped pancake with cinnamon pumpkin butter; Bayou Benedict featuring local artisan tasso ham, smoked tomato hollandaise & poached crawfish tails; omelets to order; seasonal fruits and berries, and everything to help guests start the day off right. Lunch includes delicious hand formed angus beef burgers; salads with original house made dressings; sandwiches adorned with rosemary or avocado mayo; and a variety of grilled pizzas with select gourmet toppings. Dinner at Tallulah’s offers a fascinating selection of entrees for the discerning palate. Braised Osso Bucco, Pan Fried Sea Bass Filet, Kurobuta Pork Chops and a Char grilled Angus Strip Steak, are only a few of the entrees gracing the menu. A smart array of appetizers, artisan salads and sides, including a Roasted Duck Fat Potato, help round out the evening menu, providing a truly memorable dining experience.
Wine lovers can enjoy sampling Tallulah’s extensive selection of fine wines by the glass with their dinner, in a cozy setting filled with intimate seating areas or at the bar where butter-soft leather bar stools beckon guests to sit, sip and stay awhile. The restaurant also features private dining for intimate meetings, as well as an outdoor terrace ideal for entertaining. Specialty menus, prepared by Chef Andy, are available for private parties in Tallulah.
