BATON ROUGE (NBC33) —
Christmas is around the corner, and if your looking for a little something furry to place under the tree: The people from Project Purr are looking for help to make sure cute cats are placed in loving homes around the Baton Rouge area.
Tonight volunteers were out showing of their fantastic felines. If you want to check out more cats up for adoption you can stop by the second floor at the Mall of Louisiana by Dillards to learn how you can donate time, money, or even adopt that rescued cat. Project Purr has over 130 cats available.
They started, with the mission of making Baton Rouge, a "no kill community". Christine Grenat with Project Purr said saving cats lives is what the job is all about: "90% of the cats at the EBR Animal Control had to be put down, only 10% were rescued. Our president formed Project Purr and we rescued a thousand cats."
Visit Project Purr in the mall, or there will be an event this weekend at the Petsmart on Millerville.
