EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH - The money problems continue at Southern University. A week after declaring a financial emergency, professors and faculty says there's less money in their checks than expected. Some faculty say their checks took a 20 percent hit. Administrators say it's a mistake and it's been corrected, but the news isn't all good. Chancellor James Llorens says down the road all faculties can expect less in their check because declaring a financial emergency allows administrators to take ten percent from faculty.
LIVINGSTON PARISH - Denham Springs Police still need help finding an armed robber. The robbery happened yesterday afternoon at Ba-ba's Convenience Store located on the 24-hundred block of Florida Boulevard. Police say they're looking for a white man between 5”5’ and 5”10’ inches tall. He was able to get away with some cash. No one was hurt. Call Denham Springs police if you have any information.
ORLEANS PARISH - A 19-year old man turned himself in to Police in connection with a Halloween night shooting that left one dead and seven injured. The New Orleans Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of Marvin Carter. Police say 25-year-old Albert Gloverwas simply an innocent bystander killed when gunshots rang out on Bourbon Street. That was one of four shootings in an around the French Quarter Halloween night. In all 15 people were hurt. Two people, including Glover, were killed.
