Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — East Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden wanting to clear up, what he says is, confusion concerning federal grant money.
The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness released $4 million in grant funds to the EBR Sheriff's Office.
Mayor Holden released a statement on the matter earlier today:
“No money has been misused, mismanaged or misallocated. This office recently underwent a United States Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General Audit on the homeland security program funds with no adverse findings, and the office programs were recognized by the audit as ‘best practices’.”
