Louisiana (NBC33) — The Louisiana Lottery says they're getting ready for the big changes coming to Powerball, which start on January 15.
The changes include a bigger starting jackpot, and better odds of winning.
The jackpot will start at $40 million, compared to the $20 million jackpot now. The jackpot will go up at least $10 million every time there's no winner.
Also, the odds of winning any prize go up from one in 35 to one in 32.
All these changes don't come for free, though; the price for a ticket will double from $1 to $2.
