BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Former governor turned presidential candidate Buddy Roemer back home tonight.Roemer takes a break from campaigning in New Hampshire and comes home to Baton Rouge.
He held a town hall meeting at the student union at LSU. Attendance was light but he says he's not giving up on his run for the White House.
Roemer says he's got a clear vision of what he'd do as Commander in Chief.
"I want to be president where we have a strong military but we're not policeman for the world,” says Roemer. "I want to be president we're independent in terms of oil over a five year period, where we bring the budget into balance and help those who need help. I want to be president with a complete rewrite of the tax-I want to be president where have fair trade with China, where we're working again."
Roemer is still sticking by his promise *not* to accept any campaign contribution larger than a hundred bucks.
