Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Southern players who were suspended in a fight during a football game at Arkansas Pine Bluff will now get a chance to play in this weekend's Homecoming game against Alcorn State.
The SWAC suspended sixteen Southern players after a fight broke out on the football field after a game against University of Arkansas Pine Bluff .
Now SWAC has changed the terms of the players suspension to allow Southern seniors to play in their last Homecoming game.
When asked about the suspensions from the SWAC, Coach Stump Mitchell says his senior players are in the game this week but will be suspended next week against Texas Southern.
"We probably will not have all our linebackers, there was quite a few of those guys involved. There's couple of ways they're gonna decide who's playing and who's not. They can go alphabetically is what I was told by Commissioner Sharp, or they could put all our guys names in a hat." Southern Jags Head Coach Stump Mitchell, said.
