NBC NATIONAL NEWS — For a long time, Miramar, Florida resident George Bettinger's claim to fame was being the voice of the red M&M on a commercial.
But now he's the voice of a popular family radio show that broadcasts worldwide on the Internet.
George, his wife Lizette, and their 8-year-old son Charlie are on the air live for 90 minutes a day, 6 days a week.
The Bettingers' radio show is called "The Mom and Pop Shop."
It's broadcast from inside a small office in the family's home.
They all do the voices of different characters.
Charlie likes to play Harry Potter, and Lizette's known for being "Schmoopy," a take-off of Jersey Shore's Snooki.
While they don't have a way to measure listeners, their Facebook fan page gets hundreds of comments per day and has more than 1,300 members from all over the world including Italy, Finland, and Japan.
The Bettingers started the show as a way to have fun while bringing their family closer together.
So why does it work?
George thinks it's because there's nothing else out there like it.
And it's not the first time the Bettinger's have been called "unique."
