Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — LSU Men's Basketball Head Coach Trent Johnson met with kids at Inspire Charter Academy today, where students got a chance to ask the coach questions about his life and hitting the books.
Coach Johnson said he's played basketball since he was a child, but it was good grades that got him where he is today.
"I never would have been able to go to Boise State University on a basketball scholarship if I never got good grades! Remember that,” exclaimed the coach.
Johnson also spoke about the importance of family. He told the students he's been married to the same woman for 35 years, and his first grandchild is on the way.
