BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The CATS bus system is getting six new buses, which were paid for through a federal grant.
The new buses replace six older models. CATS CEO Brian Marshall says though that despite these new buses, his organization is still facing a more than $2.1 million shortfall and they are doing everything they can to get back into the black.
"We've asked the hotels to join with us,” Marshall told NBC33 News. “We've asked the businesses to join with us. We're hoping to do more of that. We've asked the city-parish for more money."
Marshall says if the money is not found in time, CATS could go out of business by August 2012.
