LIVINGSTON PARISH, La (NBC33) — A newly formed task force was back on the streets in Livingston Parish Wednesday, searching for a string of drug dealers.
They served 16 search warrants and made several arrests. At the top of their list was A.J. Blanchard, a three time convicted felon now charged with distributing oxycodone.
Deputies say he, and the other suspects, were caught on camera selling drugs to undercover agents - many times, with their children in the room.
“They look at you and whether you like it or not, you’re kids are going to be you in the future,” says LPSO Chief Criminal Deputy Jason Ard. “They look at that and they listen and they know what's going on.”
A woman, Theresa Kins, and her partner were caught with drugs in their toddler’s diaper bag at one of the suspect’s homes. Later, Deputies connected Kins to a methamphetamine lab.
Most of the suspects rounded up today were wanted for selling crack cocaine. They've been tracked by a task force made up of Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies, Narcotics Agents, FBI Special Agents, Denham Springs Police Officers, Parole and Probation Agents.
