Louisiana State Police Troop A will be hosting its 4th annual “Troop A Day” on Saturday, October 29 from noon until 4:00 pm. This fun-filled, family-oriented health and safety event will be provided free of charge to the public and everyone is encouraged to come out and participate at the Blue Bayou / Dixie Landin’ overflow parking lot located on Highland Road next to Interstate 10. Troop A has partnered with local and state agencies to bring the health and safety message to people of all ages, ranging from car seat safety to elderly affairs. Health screenings, cancer awareness information, fire hazard houses, helicopters, disaster recovery information, ladder trucks, patrol boats, and interactive children’s games are just some of the many activities that will be offered. “With the help of our sponsors and partners, we are thrilled to be able to bring the lifesaving information needed to make the Greater Baton Rouge community a safer place,” said Captain Frank Ducote, Troop A Commander. “We encourage the public to come out, enjoy a day with the family, and take advantage of this free event and valuable information,” Captain Ducote added. Troopers would like to take this opportunity to extend an open invitation to the public and to the media to come out and enjoy the festivities on Saturday, October 29, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
