BATON ROUGE, LA (MAYOR'S OFFICE) - — Several downtown streets will be subject to partial or intermittent closures today as the TV drama "Breakout Kings" begins filming in the Baton Rouge area.
Throughout the day, there will be a one-lane closure on Convention Street between 3rd Street and Lafayette Street, but traffic will be maintained in the remaining open lane.
From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., there will be intermittent closures on the one-block stretch of 3rd Street between Florida and Convention streets.
From 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., the section of Florida Street between 3rd and 4th streets will be subject to intermittent closures, along with a possible one-lane closure during off-peak periods.
And from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., there will be intermittent closures on the 1000 block of N. 3rd Street at State Capital Avenue.
The show, which is produced by Fox and airs on A&E, is scheduled to continue filming in the Baton Rouge area through early 2012.
As part of the filming, Baton Rouge residents can expect a number of stunts, special effects, and chase sequences in the months to come.
During their stay here in the Capital City, “Breakout Kings” will be based at Celtic Media Centre, where they will be using soundstages and offices.
The initial season of “Breakout Kings” was filmed in Toronto, but moved to Baton Rouge for its second season, making it the first episodic television series to relocate to the Baton Rouge market.
