PORT ALLEN, LA (NBC33) — A man was shot just before midnight outside of a nightclub in Port Allen. The shooting was the result of an argument that happened inside the club.
Port Allen Police say the incident happened at Club MVP on Sunday, Oct. 16 at around 11:48 p.m. When they arrived they found a man who had been shot once in the left shoulder. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover from the injury.
Although the shooting stemmed from an argument, the shooter has yet to be identified. Police are asking for any information that might lead to an arrest.

This shooting happened six days before West Baton Rouge Parish voters will decide how long bars in the parish can stay open on Sundays.
If they approve the proposition, bars and nightclubs in the parish would close at ten in the evening on Sundays. Local residents have mixed feelings about the proposition.
"I think that it's a good idea,” said Port Allen resident Tyquincia Washington. “It may help decrease all the violence that's going on."
Another Port Allen resident, Raynod Franklin, thinks it won’t have an effect at all. "You can go buy your alcohol early at any place and just keep it and drink it later on. It wouldn't make a difference.”
Voters will go to the polls on October 22.
