KNOXVILLE, TN — Jarrett Lee threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns to help LSU take down Tennessee, 38-7. Spencer Ware led the Tigers in rushing with 20 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown. Senior quarterback Jordan Jefferson carried the ball 14 times for 73 yards and a touchdown. Rueben Randle had five receptions for 86 yards and a score. Randle’s touchdown put the Tigers on the board in the second quarter.
The LSU defense continued to suffocate opponents, holding the Vols to just seven points in the contest. Eric Reid and Morris Claiborne intercepted passes in the first half to keep the Tennessee offense stay off the field. The Tigers dominated the time of possession, holding the ball for just over 38 minutes (UT held the ball for 21 minutes).
With the win the Tigers improve to 7-0. Coach Les Miles and his team will return home to host Auburn Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
