Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Over thirty teams pulled their weight in one of the biggest fundraisers in the capitol city Saturday.
For twenty seconds, each one one of these teams tried their best to pull a 727 plane twelve feet.
The plane weighed up to 90 tons, and with every step, money was raised for ARC Baton Rouge, a charity dedicated to helping kids and adults with developmental disabilities.
Plane Pull chair Barry Meyer says it's heavy, but it can be done.
"It only weighs about 150,000 pounds, this is our fourth year of our plane pull festival and competition, and we've had teams out here in the past that've pulled that thing as fast as nine seconds, so, it can be done." Barry Meyer, Plane Pull Chairman said.
