BATON ROUG, LA (NBC33) — iPhone fanatics only have a few hours to wait before the iPhone 4-S hits store shelves and Baton Rouge is already buzzing. The places that are carrying it say they are opening early tomorrow and are expecting record crowds.
"Preorder sales" topped the million mark the day the device was unveiled. That's four hundred thousand more pre-ordered phones than the iPhone 4.
Area retail manger for AT&T, Cathy Miller says the buzz for the iPhone 4-S has her employees pumped for the product launch and prepped for big crowds.
Miller said, "It's fun to drive in to work and see the line wrapped around the store and hope it happens again.Typically, it's happened in June so the weather conditions are more favorable for customers to line up."
Timothy Fowler just bought his iPhone 4, but he says he'll be in line early to get the latest and greatest one yet.
He said he cant wait for "More apps better battery life. I'm looking for more I want more. "
iPhone 4-S prices start at about $200.
You can get one from Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and for the first time Sprint Nextel tomorrow.
