BRIDGE CITY, LA. (WDSU) — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday the arrest of a Bridge City man on a charge of murder.
Officials said he killed a man who was set to testify in another murder case.
Jeffrey Nelson, 18, was taken into custody last week in connection with the shooting death of Charles Smith.
Investigators said Smith witnessed a killing in January and had identified two people, Quentin McClure and Chasity Griffin,as suspects.
He was set to testify in the case, but was killed in September. Nelson, officials said, is McClure's brother.
