BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The race for Lieutenant Governor is the state-wide election that is seeing the most amount of heat so far. Current Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne says that during his time as the state's number two guy, he's been number one at saving the state money.
Dardenne says he launched the "Louisiana: Pick Your Passion" campaign to help our tourism industry bounce back within 60 days of taking office. Since then he's given close to 150 speeches to tell people how great this state is.
Dardenne says he has plenty more up his sleeve, and that's why he's hoping you vote for him.
"We’re running a strong positive campaign,” Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne told NBC33 News. “People elected me 3 times and every time they've elected me, I’ve done the job I’ve promised them. It’s an honor for me to wake up and know I represent everything great about our state.”
