Louisiana (NBC33) — The Louisiana Department of Education has ranked Zachary schools as the best educators in the state.
Superintendent Warren Drake credits his principals, teachers and students, saying they all work hard to exceed expectations.
The Zachary Community School District broke away from the EBR Parish Public School System nine years ago.
Not to be outdone, Scotlandville High School received close to $7,000 for their new engineering program.
Scotlandville is one of only ten schools across the country to receive the funding because of its ongoing work to get minorities on their way to a math and science career.
The Academy of Engineering program helps high school students by offering them scholarships and helping them get the technological skills they need to succeed in college.
