Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The stars came out to honor country singer George Jones tonight in Baton Rouge.
Jones, who made the song "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair" famous, took his place on the Hal & Al stage.
Marty Raybon, the lead singer of the Grammy-winning group Shenandoah, sang many of the songs jones made famous.
A number of celebrities came to town, not only to honor the country crooner, but raise money for the Miracle League.
The concert is put together by Scott Innes and Jim Hogg; the lead singers of Restless Heart and Diamond Rio said they're honored to be a part of the event.
The Miracle League at Cypress Mounds makes it possible for children with disabilities to play baseball on a specially designed field.
Last year's celebrity concert raised nearly $60,000. These stars are hoping they'll raise at least that much this year to purchase bleachers, dugouts and a scoreboard.
