Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Ladies braved this morning's chilly temperatures for a good cause, as the Woman's Hospital charity golf tournament, which benefits breast cancer prevention, teed off today.
NBC33’s Jennifer Crockett was there for the celebrity putting contest. She says it was a lot of fun, and all for a life-saving cause.
"The funds raised from this tournament will allow us to provide more screenings throughout the parish,” stated Lynn Weill with Woman’s Hospital. “(We will) go into the underserved areas where so many women would not be able to access the screening were it not for the mobile mammography coach."
Today's golf tournament capped off a weekend of fundraisers for Woman's mobile mammography coach.
Last year, the fundraising events raised over $100,000.
