A judge has decided to hear a case to keep North Iberville High School open.
The goal is to reverse the school board's decision to shut down the school. Since April, a group of parents, teachers, and students have been fighting hard to overturn that 8 to 7 vote.
In a preliminary hearing yesterday, the school board's attorney called the petition "bare-boned", and asked the judge to dismiss the case. Lawyers for the plaintiff argued, that the school board members were misled by Superintendent Ed Cancienne.
The trial is set for August 12th, two days after school is set to begin for the year.
