BATON ROUGE, La(NBC33) — The death of Wildlife and Fisheries Sergeant Paul Stuckey hit his coworkers, and residents, very hard.
"A fellow law enforcement officer, something happens to him in the line of duty - it's tough for the agents, the officers, the family," Jeff Mayne, Lieutenant Colonel, said. "It's something that brings the law enforcement community together. Nobody wants to a see a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty."
One local resident wants the person responsible found.
"Them guys are out there to protect us and keep us safe for a reason, just like the police officers on the road," Beth Coody, a local resident in St. Francisville, said. "I just feel, honestly, I hope they find whoever it was and they do the right thing."
Sandra Spears just can't understand why somebody would take someone else's life.
"Why would someone want to kill somebody and for what purpose? What's the purpose? Can you tell me? Can they even answer the question themselves why they killed someone?”
