BATON ROUGE, LA. (NBC33) — A Natalbany man was arrested after burglarizing at least 5 vehicles.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that an early morning arrest leads to the recovery of approximately $10,000 worth of stolen property.
At approximately 5 am on September 27, 2011, deputies arrested Eric J. Washington after going on a burglary spree in the Natalbany area. Deputies received information that Washington was observed taking items out a vehicle on Charleton Dr. and then placing them a grey Ford Expedition. Washington was then observed riding around the area at a slow rate of speed.
Due to units already patrolling in the area, deputies made contact with Washington within minutes. As a result of the roadside investigation, Washington stated that he burglarizes at least 5 vehicles and had property in his vehicle. Subsequent to Washington’s arrest, deputies located at least $10,000 worth of stolen property ranging from car audio equipment, currency, musical instruments and miscellaneous electronics.
Washington was charged with 5 counts of simple burglary and for 2 outstanding traffic warrants.
