BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — THIS IS AN NBC33 NEWS UPDATE: Lee Winfield, 37, was laying in bed with his wife when someone came into their home, killing him with one shot to the head. Five children were in the home at the time.
It happened at 3:30 this morning at a duplex on Robbie Avenue - that's off Florida Blvd near Flannery.
Winfield's family tells NBC33 News that the couple's cars were shot up just last week, but they don't know who is targeting their family. They also say Winfield had two children and one step child and worked at a plant.

ORIGINAL: According to the Baton Rouge Police Department someone tried to kill a 37 year old man on Robbie Avenue at 3:30 Friday morning. That's off Florida Boulevard near North Flannery.
The man was found inside a home at 12363 Robbie, shot once. His injuries are life threatening. Police don't have a motive or suspect right now. The Violent Crimes Unit has been called out to investigate.
