BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Greater Food Bank of Baton Rouge is working with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries on a campaign that hopes to feed the hungry, and clean out a few freezers, too.
The Food Bank is asking all hunters to donate any extra game they might have taking up extra space. All of it will go to feed less fortunate families in the area.
“You can donate a deer at any of the processors on our website,” Amy Sellers, Baton Rouge Food Bank, explained to NBC33 News. “You keep the backstrap and tenderloin and the rest of the deer is donated to food bank completely free - you don't have to pay processing."
If you make a donation, we want to say thanks by showing a photo of you making your donation. All you have to do is snap a picture while out at the donation location, and then post it to the wall of the NBC33 Facebook page [1].
