Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — If there's any tune the Tigers are singing these days, it may just be Willie Nelson's number one hit "On The Road Again". For the third time in four weeks, the LSU football team will be just that.
“It’s just those things, flying away, getting your bags packed, all those little things that could throw a team off but i think we have enough poise and focus to overcome,” said senior offensive lineman T-Bob Hebert.
Playing in rowdy environments away from home is something the LSU football team says seems like the norm.
"I think there is a confidence and an enjoyment when we play in a road venue now”, stated head coach Les Miles. “I don’t look at it as adversity."
"I’m not too picky - if it’s a bed, I'll sleep in it,” said sophomore safety Eric Reid. “I just have to get my mind focused on the game, run through the plays, and I'll be alright.”
But this stadium will be a little different on Saturday in Mountaineer Field, because adult beverages will be sold to those of age.
“I just found out that they serve beer in the stadium so there will be a bunch of drunk crazy fans,” laughed senior safety Brandon Taylor.
Reid chimed in, “Hopefully, I don’t get any beer bottles thrown at me if they are selling alcohol.”
Which of course raises the question: what if they did the same back home in Tiger stadium?
"If they did that at Tiger Stadium, I fear that the upper decks wouldn’t hold it,” said Miles.
“But I promise you, we would enjoy playing in a Tiger Stadium that had a beer or two."
