NBC33S PET ADOPTION — So many animals in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas need good homes. Before you purchase a pet from a breeder or pet store, make sure to take a look at all the foster pets that need adopting. All of the animals listed below were saved by the Northside Humane Society.
First up are a litter of puppies that were dropped off at the Ascension Animal Control. They are 7 weeks old, Schnauzer-mix.
This is Andy, a 5 month old Terrier-hound mix. Andy is a very affectionate and playful dog that was rescued from the East Baton Rouge Animal Shelter. He is still young and learning how to be a good dog, but needs a little more work. He would be great for a family with a fenced yard.
Next up is a cat named Cassie. She was rescued from the East Baton Rouge Animal Control euthanasia room when one of the officers called Northside Humane. Cassie recently had kittens, and they have all been rescued. Now, she needs a good home, too. She’s young enough to be playful, but also likes to lounge around.
Another cat names Mischief needs love, too. This 10 week old black and white Manx was one of a little of 7 kittens. His mom was a feral cat living behind a Walmart in Zachary. Mischief and his brothers and sisters were found in a ditch just as a storm was approaching.
And last but not least, Patty is a young retriever mix that was abandoned in a trailer in Denham Springs. When they found her, she had pulled the siding away from the trailer so she could do inside and give birth to a litter of pups and keep them safe. She’s very intelligent and affectionate. She gets along great with other dogs and loves people. However, she’s not the biggest fan of cats. Patty is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.
